James David Bowman, 82, of Elgin, formerly of Ashby, MN, passed away March 23, 2018. James was born April 21, 1935 in Fergus Falls, MN. He was the son of Ernest and Hazel Bowman. He was united in marriage on September 26, 1959 to Mary Koteles. He served in the US Army Reserve for 8 years. James retired from the Win Cup in 2005. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working, and time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
James is survived by his wife of 59 years Mary; children Karen (Brian) O’Neill, David (Ann) Bowman and Eric (Kristine) Bowman; 7 grandchildren Nicole, Breine, Daniel, Kristina, Kelli Ann, Nicholas, and Ryan; 3 great grandchildren Nolan, Jackson and Taylor; a brother Dennis (Paulette) Bowman; a sister Janice (Dale) Rieken and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be March 31, 2018 at 1:30pm until memorial service at 2:30pm at his family church, Hosanna Lutheran Church, 36W925 Red Gate Rd., St. Charles, IL.
