Chase R. Butler

Chase Ray Butler, 7, of Rothsay, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, MN.  The celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home in Wahpeton, North Dakota.  There will be a visitation held one hour prior.  Rene’ Hasbargen will officiate the service.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge.

Chase Ray Butler, a boy with the biggest heart and love for his family, was born in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, on March 16, 2016, to Sarah Butler and Bill Wischnak.  He was a 2nd grader at Rothsay Elementary School.  He had the most infectious laugh, beautiful eyes, huge smile, and gave the biggest hugs.

He enjoyed video games, Pokémon, and playing with his friends, Reyna and Calix.  He would count down the minutes until his dad got home so they could play video games together.  Chase loved camping, swimming, and his family.  He especially looked up to his older brother, Caleb.  At times, you could catch him showing off his latest dance moves, as he would listen to all types of music.  Chase left his mark with his big personality wherever he would go.   He even had his own “Chase Special” at the Rothsay Café.

Chase is survived by his parents, Sarah and Bill; brother, Caleb; cousin, Alyssa Butler; grandparents, Marie Butler (Jeff Gallaher), Kristen (Charlie) Haugen, Kelly Wischnak, Steve Dandurand (Deon); aunts, ReAnna Herk, Amy (Jonathan) Walter, Amanda Yeske, Kristen Butler; uncle, Christopher Haugen; and many other cousins and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Rick Butler; uncle, Shane Herk; and a cousin, Cameron Yeske.

Visitation: Sat., March 23, 10-11am at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND

Celebration of Life: Sat., March 23, 11am-12pm
