William “Bill” Kubitz Jr.

William “Bill” Kubitz Jr., age 87, a resident of Lake Park, Minnesota, died on December 23, 2017, at Sunnyside Care Center in Lake Park, MN.
William Herman Jr. was born March 9, 1930 in Friberg Township to William and Yolanda (Kenyon) Kubitz, he was the oldest of 10 children. He attended school through the eighth grade in Friberg Township.
He married Marjorie Jean Peterson in Pelican Rapids on November 1, 1950. Through several years they resided in Fergus Falls, Callaway, Erhard, Elizabeth, and Barnesville where they farmed and had dairy cows from 1951 until 1966. In 1966, he began working at the Fargo Foundry as a boilermaker. They moved back to Pelican Rapids in 1969 and purchased Pelican Welding in 1979 where he worked until he retired in 1996.
He then moved to Athens, Texas and remained there until 2011 when he returned to Pelican Rapids and then spent the last five years at Sunnyside Residence in Lake Park, Minnesota.
Bill enjoyed fishing, canning and attending the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion in Rollag.
He is survived by his children: Daryl (Connie) Kubitz, Hawley, MN; Mike Kubitz, Pelican Rapids, MN; Kathy (Bruce) Drechsel, Fergus Falls, MN; Patrick Kubitz, Arizona; Missy Kubitz, Alabama; and Karen (Chuck) Sherzi, Andover, Massachusetts; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Donald (Marlys) Kubitz, Gertrude (Dave) Muckey, Lorice (Vernon) Seeba, Luella (Vernon) Stamer, Ernest (Joyce) Kubitz, Rebecka (Joseph) Vogel, Glendora Nosal, Marlin (Bernice) Kubitz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents: William Herman Sr. and Yolanda Kubitz; son Dennis Leroy Kubitz; infant daughter, and brother Gerald Kubitz.
