Upper Midwest Regional Fruit and Vegetable Growers Conference and Three Pre-Conference

Workshops to Be Held
The Upper Midwest Regional Fruit and Vegetable Growers Conference and Trade Show will be held
January 14 & 15, 2016 at the St. Cloud River’s Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
The educational events will benefit all commercial fruit and vegetable growers- those who are well
established, new growers and those thinking about commercial horticultural production. In addition to
outstanding educational opportunities, a variety of vendors will showcase their products at the Trade
Show. This conference is an educational highlight of the year for commercial fruit and vegetable
producers in the Upper Midwest.
If you grow fruits and vegetables, plan to attend this conference. Educational sessions will focus on berry
production, specialty crops, vine crops, and tree fruits. High tunnel production, changes to the cottage
food law, business and employee management, and creating an amazing customer experience will be
discussed in addition to many other topics. Area growers are on the program along with specialists from
the University of Minnesota Extension and other regional experts.
Three Pre-Conference Workshops will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the St. Cloud
River’s Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud. Join Bob Negen to learn his marketing tips and tricks to
explode sales and how to create power promotions to bring in new customers. Separate full-day
workshops will focus on getting started in commercial vegetable production, or join CSA operators for a
facilitated discussion covering many topics related to Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
production and management.
The educational conference and workshops are sponsored by the Minnesota Fruit and Vegetable Growers
Association in cooperation with the University of Minnesota Extension, the Minnesota Department of
Agriculture and the USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant Program. These agencies are equal opportunity
providers.
