WASHINGTON, D.C. [04/23/15]—Today, U.S. Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) issued the following statement after voting to confirm Loretta Lynch as the U.S. Attorney General:
“While I am disappointed that it took so long to take up this nomination, I was proud to finally cast my vote to confirm Loretta Lynch as Attorney General. She is exceptionally well qualified to lead the Department of Justice, and her tenure as U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York showed just how tough a prosecutor she is. I look forward to working with her.”
Sen. Franken previously supported Ms. Lynch when her nomination was voted on in the Senate Judiciary Committee.
