New and Gently Used Coats Needed for Coats for Kids Drive!

New and Gently Used Coats Needed for Coats for Kids Drive!

The Coats for Kids drive is now underway in Otter Tail County. This program helps to defray cold weather clothing costs for parents who may not be able to afford it. Last year, OVER 1,500 coats, hats, and mittens were distributed to families throughout the county and the same number is expected this year.

Caring community members can help struggling families by simply cleaning out their closets. New or gently used coats, snow pants, boots, hats and mittens, sizes birth to adult XL are welcome. Though the program is called ‘Coats for Kids,’ adult coats are welcome as well, because many parents also go without the proper attire to stay warm during the cold winter months. Gently used clothing that needs some light cleaning, can be dropped off at Rainbow Cleaners in Fergus Falls. A special thanks to Rainbow Cleaners for providing this service to the Coats for Kids program at no charge!

Donations can be dropped off at the following locations:

Farmers & Merchants State Bank – New York Mills

United Way of Otter Tail County – 120 E Washington, Fergus Falls

Rainbow Cleaners – Fergus Falls

Calvary Lutheran Church – Perham

United Community Bank – Perham

Boys and Girls Club of Perham
