Over 11 years ago, United Way of Otter Tail County made the transition from serving as a fundraising organization to providing services that make an impact in your community. In 2014, we invested a total of $334,814 into the Otter Tail County community. Not only did we use this dollar amount to provide funding for 35 local human service programs, but we also used it to coordinate or fund 15 programs and initiatives which include Day of Caring, Friends of Friends Fighting Hunger, Stuff the Bus, Buddy Book Bins, Imagination Library, Stamp out Hunger, Prescription for Reading, Early Childhood Dental Network, Emergent Volunteers in Times of Disaster, Children’s Weekend Feeding Backpack Program, 211, Early Childhood Initiative, Catholic Hearts Workcamp, and Community Connect Mobile Food Drops.

Annually, we provide funding to 35 programs which you select as critical to your communities. This funding is provided through our annual campaign. To date we are at 65% of our $320,000 goal. We need your help to raise the additional $113,000.
United Way is not a federally funded program; we do not receive state support. It is only through you, our local community members that we are able to provide support to 1 in 3 people who need a lift up.

This year, Stuff the Bus served 782 children in poverty, leveraging over $43,000 in school supplies for our schools in Otter Tail County. Day of Caring events, Friends of Friends Fighting Hunger, Coats for Kids, Imagination Library, and The Children’s Weekend Feeding Backpack programs are all programs that United Way coordinates in communities across Otter Tail County. What if United Way was unable to provide these programs because we couldn’t reach our goal? Is there an organization that could take over today?

Partner programs such as Salvation Army, Boys and Girls Club, Someplace Safe, Kinship, Fergus Falls Meals by Meals, and many more, rely heavily on the funding that they receive from United Way every year. We must reach our annual campaign goal to continue to support our partner programs that provide services to people in need in your community.
Please consider making a donation to United Way today!  We desperately need your help to continue our mission of improving lives in Otter Tail County!
