Vicki Lewis, 66, of rural Underwood died Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Lake Region Hospital.
Vicki Beth (Myrbo) Lewis was born August 14, 1949 in Fergus Falls, MN to Warren and Muriel (Stenoien) Myrbo. She was one of two children, though her older brother only lived to be a day old. Vicki graduated from Underwood High School in 1967 amongst the top students in her class. She attended Beauty College in Minneapolis upon high school graduation.

On December 31, 1969, she married Everett Lewis from Barnesville, MN. The couple met on a train on Christmas Eve and married one week later. They were blessed with two sons and one daughter and more than 41 years of love and companionship.

Vicki was a loving mother and devoted wife. Though she was a licensed Beautician when they first married, she chose to be a full-time mom after the birth of their first child in 1970.

She was a very kind and giving person. Vicki often put the needs of others before her own. She always found the best qualities in others and treated everyone with respect. Vicki was also very passionate and kind toward animals and spent a great share of her lifetime taking in strays to give them a better life. Some of her favorite pastimes included horseback riding, fishing, gardening, listening to music, playing bingo, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Vicki was passionate about life. She was a fighter until the very end and an inspiration to others around her. She was a 3 time breast cancer survivor, and defied the odds more than once. On Wednesday, March 16, 2016, she passed peacefully in her sleep at Lake Region Hospital surrounded by all three of her children.

Vicki is survived by her children; James (Ann) of Dalton, Marni (Adam) Harvey of Minneapolis, and Travis of Underwood; grandchildren, Gunnar Lewis, Brandon and Zachary Harvey, Kosa Bella Lewis; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and very close friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Warren and Muriel Myrbo; brother, Blaine; her beloved husband Everett Lewis; and a number of relatives and close friends that she considered family.
