Three Upcoming LRAC Grants Funded by the McKnight Foundation

Lake Region Arts Council, Fergus Falls, Minnesota is excited to offer three grant programs funded by the McKnight Foundation in 2016. $18,000 will be awarded to individuals living in the LRAC region. If you are a practicing artist, dancer, musician, performer, sculptor, writer, etc. and live in Becker, Clay, Douglas, Grant, Otter Tail, Pope, Stevens, Traverse or Wilkin Counties, you are eligible to apply to LRAC grant programs.

 

Here are the highlights:

 

LRAC Career Development Grant

* This grant will award up to $1,200 to individuals to study, travel, create new work, purchase new equipment, and market their artistic career.

* The total pool of funding is $8,500.

* Grant Writing Workshop is Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm at the LRAC office in Fergus Falls.

* Grant Deadline is midnight, Tuesday, April 5, 2016.

* Grant Review is Tuesday, May 17, 2016.

 

LRAC McKnight Fellowship Grant

* This grant will award one artist $5,000 in recognition of their artistic career and contributions to the Arts in the LRAC region.

* This year the eligible artistic disciplines are music and visual arts.

* Grant Writing Workshop is Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 6 to 7 pm, at the LRAC office in Fergus Falls.

* Grant Deadline is midnight, Tuesday, May 3, 2016.

* Grant Review is Tuesday, June 21, 2016.

* Awardee will be honored at the LRAC 2016 Annual Meeting in July 2016 with the presentation of the first check, $4,500. The final $500 payment will be presented to the Fellowship awardee at the LRAC 2017 Annual meeting.

 

LRAC Artist Quick Start Grant

* This grant will award $750 to individuals to study, travel, create new work, purchase new equipment, and market their artistic career.

* The total pool of funding is $4,500.

* Information will be presented at the Artist Quick Start Grant Writing Workshop on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm at the LRAC office in Fergus Falls.

* Grant Deadline is midnight, Tuesday, August 2, 2016.

* Grant Review is Tuesday, September 20, 2016.

All LRAC Grant Writing Workshops are free and open to the public. Registration is required to attend in order to plan for the number of participants. At the workshop, you will learn about LRAC online grant system and grant writing basics. Individual consultations in person, by phone or email are available from the LRAC office. All workshops will be held at the LRAC offices, 133 S Mill St, Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
