Michael Burgraff, Executive Director of A Center for the Arts, has acquired a painting by Minnesota artist Connie Payson for his renovated office space in Fergus Falls, MN. Burgraff chose Payson’s painting “Mariette”, a nocturnal scene of the historic 1915 sailing yacht built by the renown naval architect, Herreshoff.
A California native, Connie Payson relocated to Minnesota in 2006 and her time spent near the Pacific is evident in the realism depicted in her paintings. Her paintings are rendered in oil on canvas and are known for capturing the atmosphere and celebrating the nostalgia of her period paintings.
“A Center for the Arts has been an incredible supporter of the local emerging artist in the area, and I am honored that my painting was selected by Burgraff to reside in his daily environment. It is rewarding to have your work be appreciated by a leader of the arts in our region.”
“The Mariette” is presented to Michael Burgraff at the Art Reception for Connie Payson at 2:30 pm, Sunday, November 22, 2015 at A Center for the Arts in Fergus Falls, MN.
