BLAST (Babysitter Lessons and Safety Training)
Caring for young children is not easy. When the parents leave, the babysitter is
responsible for keeping the kids or their siblings safe, fed and entertained. In this class,
you’ll learn how to supervise children and infants, perform basic child-care skills such as
diapering and feeding, choose safe, age-appropriate games and toys, handle bedtime and
discipline issues, identify safety hazards and prevent injuries, care of common injuries
and emergencies such as choking, burns, cuts and bee stings. You will also learn how to
communicate effectively with parents, as well as find and interview for babysitting jobs.
