Babysitting clinic offered to local youths

Wadena, MN – April 16, 2016 — Twenty‐five boys and girls attended the babysitting class on Saturday,
April 16 on the Wadena campus of Tri‐County Health Care. Students received training from Carla Johnson,
NCTMB; Jenna Saewert; and George Kveton, EMT.

The clinic covered basic responsibilities on caring for infants and children, including diapering and
feeding techniques, game ideas, tips for bedtime issues and how to have a safe experience. Students also
learned how to perform first‐aid, choose safe age‐appropriate toys and how to handle emergencies that arise
such as injuries, illnesses and household accidents. Students were also coached on how to interview for
potential jobs and how they can be good role models!

Another babysitting class is being planned for the September. Please watch Tri‐County Health Care’s
website and Facebook page for dates and times.
